Job Description:

Accountable to: Principal

Time Allotment: Full-Time

Compensation: Tbd

General:

The Principal, Director of Donor Development and Alumni Relations and the Business Manager form the Administration Team of RJC. This team will work together closely to provide effective leadership for the school in pursuit of its mission. Together they promote a vision for Christian Education within the school and with its supporting constituency. Specific duties may be assigned within the team according to their individual strengths and the changing needs of the school.

It is the responsibility of the Director to:

  • Raise funds and advance relationships with school’s external community of donors and alumni
  • Provide direction with respect to strategic marketing regarding donor development and student recruitment
  • Provide direction for the school’s communications to Student Recruitment and Communications Specialist
  • Provide leadership with respect to alumni relations
  • Provide direction for engagement of volunteers
  • Management of appropriate systems and data management

Requirements

  • Required Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
  • A trustworthy self-starter with ability to make presentations, conduct prospecting calls and close gift sales
  • Excellent verbal communication and strong writing skills
  • Demonstrates professional interpersonal skills with ability to interact with respect and confidentiality with others from a variety of backgrounds
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Able to set and achieve measurable goals and meet deadlines
  • Must be a critical thinker and display ongoing attention to detail adhering to excellent documentation protocol – reports, goal setting
  • Must have a good understanding of both Christian education in a private school setting and an Alumni based school
  • Able to lead and motivate a team
  • Energetic, positive, enthusiastic and a strong work ethic

Required Education

  • Post secondary degree or certificate in business or similar such as business administration, sales, communication or marketing preferred
  • 7 plus years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of charitable tax framework
  • Strong in data management software
  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
