At the end of February 2016, the choirs from RJC and Canadian Mennonite University joined forces for a concert at Knox United Church in Saskatoon. Chorale is directed by Richard Janzen and CMU Singers by Dr. Janet Brenneman. CMU made the trek out to Saskatoon on Saturday for a rehearsal with RJC, then after singing Sunday morning at Wildwood Mennonite Church (CMU) and Nutana Park Mennonite Church (RJC), the two choirs together put on a beautiful program in the afternoon.
CMU singers had 48 students in the choir. Normally RJC Chorale is a small group of 15, but for the weekend, it was boosted to 30 singers! Chorale also went with the traditional blue gowns for the first time this year!
The Theatre Arts Class recently performed the short play "The Fearsome Pirate Frank" to two audiences in the gymnasium. Audiences enjoyed the light hearted swashbuckling adventures of the Frank, the actor who cannot remember his lines and the REAL Fearsome Pirate Frank, the fiercest female pirate on the seven seas!
